Radiation Therapy Physics Services (RTPS) offers a wide range of services from traditional locum placement to special projects to permanent as-needed coverage either remotely or in person. We specialize in remote operations that lead to improved clinical efficiency while lowering physics costs to the clinic. Atom Physics offers a wide range of solutions and a pricing structure allowing you to hand pick services important to your clinic. We can function as that elusive part-time resource that works along with the current physics team or bridge the gap between permanent staff by placing a locum physicist on-site.
Remote Services
- Daily review of machine performance
- Initial chart review of patient treatment starts
- Review of patient specific quality assurance measurements
- Weekly chart reviews in accordance with state and regulatory provisions
- Either a low flat monthly fee or just pay a la carte! (e.g., Weekly Chart Checks $25/each)
On-site Services
- Traditional locum physicist placement backed up by our permanent staff board-certified physicists
- Comprehensive monthly quality assurance testing of linear accelerators in compliance with TG142 of the AAPM and state regulations
- Full annual quality assurance testing of linear accelerators
- CT simulator monthly and annual quality assurance
Commissioning Services
- Linear accelerator commissioning:
- Full commissioning of a new linear accelerator
- acceptance
- water scans
- modeling for the treatment planning system
- New beam energies on existing machines
- New stereotactic program (SRS/SBRT)
- New imaging modalities
- Quality assurance techniques such as portal dosimetry
- Full commissioning of a new linear accelerator
- Commissioning services outside of linear accelerator and ancillary associated equipment include:
- Implementation of a badge monitoring system
- Shielding design for CT vaults, linear accelerator vaults, and hot labs
- CT simulator commissioning
- Electronic medical record annual quality assurance
- End to end testing
System Review
- Comprehensive review of current billing practices:
- Review of denials and approval in an effort to maximize billing practices
- Advice on streamlined documentation necessary for billing codes
- Charge panels to ease billing for various areas of the department
- Accreditation:
- Prepare the clinic for accreditation through APEx or ACR.
- Gap analysis will be provided to assist the clinic in moving forward with accreditation
- Preparation of necessary documentation and practices
- Electronic medical records (EMR) assessment:
- Full assessment of current clinical workflows from a holistic perspective ranging from patient intake to treatment and how it impacts your EMR
- Recommendations and assist in that transition to a paperless environment
- Standardizing clinical workflows in your EMR that accommodate efficiency and compliance
